PREPARATIONS

Well, last night I hit a wall with the printmaking, so I decided to start getting my studio ready for my open house, which is on Feb. 26 from 2 PM until 6 PM.  It feels like there is a lot more to do this year than last year — last year I started with a new, empty studio.  Last night I started by taking all artwork down from the walls, in progress or complete.  I took a brief look at what I’ve got in my various folder, and started hanging things up.  It is fun to see how my newer work interacts with older pieces.  Cadmium yellow seems to be the tie that binds.  I will be sad when I run out of my supply, since Daniel Smith has discontinued that color.

I think this open house is a great idea, just to take stock of what work I have available and to clean things up.  So far, only about 11 people have RSVP’d.  I hope that more people will be able to make it.

If you are reading this and are planning on attending, please drop me a line so that I have plenty of cake and champagne!!
