Small cups made from a square extrusion, except for the one second from the right, which was made using a cylindrical extrusion. #ruthhesseartist
Now that I am all settled in and my press has a permanent home, I have become sidetracked by ceramics. I am not sure if it is an infatuation or a full-blown love affair. I start my third session of class at Jansen Art Center in Lynden this week.
For the next six weeks, I will be making more three and four-legged vessels. After that, I plan to explore lidded vessels. In anticipation of our giant “storm” today, I have forgone open studio time in favor of researching potters, glazes, design elements and galleries on Pinterest.
I am definitely feeling the pull of the clay, and enjoying the friendships I have found at Jansen.
